Bringing New Momentum to Tourism in the Region
In early March, Black Sand Hotel will open its doors, marking a significant addition to tourism in the region. Set against the dramatic natural landscape of South Iceland, the hotel is surrounded by black sand beaches, wide open landscapes, and the raw power of the ocean — creating a truly memorable experience for guests.
Preparations for the opening are well underway, and there is a strong sense of anticipation among those involved in the project.
“We are very excited to open Black Sand Hotel in early March and welcome our first guests. The area is defined by its unique energy and natural beauty, and our goal is to create an experience where quality, a warm atmosphere, and outstanding service go hand in hand. We look forward to building a strong team and becoming an active part of the community from day one,” says Óskar.
The opening marks not only a new step in the development of tourism, but also an important contribution to local employment. As preparations continue for the opening and the upcoming summer season, Black Sand Hotel is strengthening its team and is currently recruiting for key operational positions.
“We are expanding across all key positions, with particular emphasis on recruiting waitstaff and chefs for the hotel’s restaurant. At the same time, we are looking for capable individuals for a variety of roles related to the hotel’s operations. We place great importance on strong connections with the local community and aim to build a reliable on-call team for temporary shifts, events, and other occasions. Those interested are encouraged to contact me at [email protected],” says Óskar.
