For students, entrepreneurs, and companies
Verið is part of Ölfus Cluster, a community that supports innovation, business development, and education in the region. Through collaboration with, among others, the University of Akureyri, we offer facilities where students can sit exams and pursue their studies in a professional and supportive environment – closer to home.
Everything you need for productive work
We offer fully equipped workspaces where each desk is provided with a keyboard, mouse, and a high-quality monitor to ensure comfortable and efficient working conditions. For those who require additional privacy, two soundproof Mudebox booths are also available, ideal for remote meetings, recordings, or focused work without distractions.
For university students
Collaboration with the University of Akureyri and the Agricultural University of Iceland ensures that exams are conducted in accordance with the universities’ regulations. Students from other universities are also welcome to use the study and work facilities at Verið for a modest fee.
Our goal is to make higher education more flexible and accessible for everyone who wishes to build their future in their local community.
For entrepreneurs and companies
Verið also offers office and workspace facilities for entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals, and companies with employees working remotely.
Although the space is not large, we focus on creating a comfortable, creative, and professional environment that supports daily work, networking, and innovation.

Guidelines B.7 – Location-Independent Jobs
The project aligns with the government’s regional development policy and the strategic Regional Development Plan approved by Alþingi for the period 2022–2036. The aim is to increase employment opportunities in rural areas through a wider range of jobs, thereby strengthening settlement across the country.
Through the project, support is provided on the one hand for the development of workplace clusters throughout the country, and on the other hand to offset one-time costs associated with jobs located in such clusters or in other workplaces outside the capital area’s labour market region.
The service map of the Icelandic Regional Development Institute (Byggðastofnun) shows additional locations suitable for offices supporting location-independent jobs.
Open the service map, select the Public Administration tab, and check Facilities for Location-Independent Jobs.
